Storms with a gray sky and moderate rain and a few rumbles of thunder and maybe a flash or 2 of lightning are wonderful.
The ones where the sky turns black, rain pours down so hard you can't see more then 5 feet in front of you, thunder so loud the house shakes, lightening bolts so close and so vivid it light up the living room with is dark due to a power outage, tornado touchdowns and golf ball-sized hail being reported in every county around you making you wonder if and when yours is next, finally hearing the first pelts of hail against the windows and side of the house letting you know that you're just one finally step away from all hell breaking loose (as if it wasn't already), then hearing the wail or the nearby tornado siren which, if the thunder didn't damage your ear drums, the siren will, then fleeing for cover in the basement (if you're lucky enough to have one and one that doesn't flood at that, leaving you the option of either being kiiled directly by the tornado or flying debris, or drowing while trying to avoid it), hiding and cowering in some dark corner, not knowing what's going on outside, if there even is a tornado on the ground or where it is, and if so, where is it headed, sitting there for an inknown length of time until yuou hear the winds begin to die down and you work up enough nerver to look out the window and hopefully receive confirmation from the weather radio that the storm is passing your neck of the woods, that is if you haven't allowed the batteries in the radio to expire, then you go outside to see tree limbs and power lines laying on the ground and on cars and on the rooves of houses and a torent of water rushing down each side of the street towards gutters that were not designed to handles such a large volume of water all at once.....these storms I DON'T like.

I love storms but i hate thunder.. I love walking in the rain with no umbrella and just getting wet.. I love the smell after it rains too.... Ahhhhh !!! The day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom - Anais Nin

I'd have repetitive dreams when I was younger about tornados ripping through the field across from my backyard, but nothing like that ever happened. I always get a little adrenaline rush from strong storms, though.
