IS THIS REASONABLE?

Greyhound Discovery PassĀ®

International Ameripass Type Adult Price
4 Day $135.20
7 Day $183.20
10 Day $223.20
15 Day $271.20
21 Day $319.20
30 Day $367.20
45 Day $407.20
60 Day $495.20

This will allow me to travel unlimited throughout the U.S. for the duration of the pass...there's absolutely no way we'd get something this cheap here in Australia LOL

can I get an idea from the Americans what you think of those prices?

Depends what you want it for.... I personally would not take a bus...you can fly pretty cheap.

Where do you want to go?
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

I'm going all over...I'm flying into L.A. and making my way across to N.Y.C. so flying's not really an option

I've just seen these Amtrak fares, tho...

USA RAIL PASS

USA Rail Pass: International Travelers Only

National Rail Pass

Travel from coast to coast anywhere Amtrak goes in the US.

15-Day Pass

$295 Off-peak
$440 Peak

30-Day Pass

$385 Off-Peak
$550 Peak

whew...are you ready for this?

L.A. - San Francisco - Seattle - Las Vegas (hopefully Grand Canyon and Yosemite N.P.) - Phoenix - Houston - Minneapolis (Chanhassen redface forgotten the spelling) - Chicago - Memphis - New Orleans - Tampa - Miami Beach - Washington D.C. - NYC (and hopefully Niagara Falls)

I'm exhausted just thinking about it redface I've worked out I can do it reasonably with a 30 day pass believe it or not thumbs up!

yep, it'll add up alright!! I've given myself a (very) rough estimate tho and I probably won't spend that much but I'll have it there anyway coz even if I don't spend that much in the US (and I know I'm going to want to spend more than I say I am rolleyes) I need all the $ I can get for the U.K. boxed (I'm actually going from the U.S. to the U.K. on a 2 year working visa, by the way so I'll be there, too!)

when are you and Pill thinking of going to the U.K.? how cool!!!!! hope it works out for you hon hug

fuck greyhound! Take the train if you can... it might cost you more, but the bus is so goddamn slow... you'll be thankful for the extra time, especially on your tight schedule...

I took greyhound when I went on vacation. The trip there was not so bad. The trip back...disbelief

I'll probably never take the bus again (or at least not for a long time)

Wow, that look slike it'll be an amazing trip. Good luck with going to the UK. US dollars aren't worth too much here right now though. Better save up LOADS! Especially since u're bound to spend a lot of your time in London, which is ridiculously pricey.

I've just come back for 6 weeks after being in Thailand and I've spent quite a bit already. Best thing is to make your money outside of a country with a weak economy and change it into the local currency. Then you're laughing.

Anyway, I digress. Looks like a great trip and the UK will be proud to have u when u get here.
