I have spent this afternoon taking in the rare glimpse of sun we have had in England this year.

On the way back a liitle guy on his bike stopped me and asked if I had seen his Mum and Dad.... he went to all the trouble of giving me a full description of them, he said they were supposed to meet him there....Obviously I didn't know who they were nor could I tell him where they were!

This little fella was only 5 years old...out on his own!!!!

He was a very trusting and vulnerable chap...and a happy guy to boot ...despite him losing touch with his parents. I told him I would get some help and rang the local police who came out very quickly and took charge of him...(he seemed quite proud to be able to sit in the front of the police car).

But who the blazes in their right mind lets a 5 year old...so trusting as well...out on their own???...My children never roamed around without supervision...I may not have been the most popular guy on the planet with them, but at least I knew they were safe!!!!!

No one is perfect...especially me...but there are limits. I'm sure all you folks would have done exactly the same as me and are the most responsible of parents, but there are some out there who seem to be no brainers. They may try to justify themselves...it may even have been just a one off, ...but I could have been any low life...it only takes that "one off" for a complete and utter tragedy to occur.

When the Police man asked him where his Mum and Dad were he said "they were lost" to which the Policeman replied "oh...so you're not lost then?"....the little fella said "No".....which just about sums it up!!!!!

Sorry to you all for going on like this I'm normally a fairly quiet, pleasant and sickly sugary sweet little Troll, But when things like this happen I turn into a Dragon of a Scorpion...even if I am small!

I think in some cases there should be some kind of test to obtain a license to breed.
