The script is incredible, and this is the first film that actually gets Batman right. Aranofsky's "Year One" script wasn't nearly this good (and besides, he's going to be directing "Watchmen"). I'm convinced that Nolan is the perfect guy for the job.

See Memento for his previous film work. He is approaching this film from a very realistic viewpoint. Everything that Batman uses is either technology that exists, or is being developed. He is using much of "Year One", but he's also fleshing out the details we've read here and there in the comic. The Joker's question of "where does he get those wonderful toys" in the first film is answered here. We see an early, military style Batmobile that doesn't have all the sleek lines we see later. We see Bruce Wayne training over the years, returning to Gotham, and formulating his plan to bring justice to a corrupt city. We'll also get to see him form his partnership with a young police detective named Jim Gordon!

Cool! I'm excited again. After the first movie with Tim Burton and of course the soundtrack, it just went down hill and downright corny. This is more like the "Dark Knight" tales of Batman right?

The soundtrack in the original was perfect! I can't imagine watching any Batman movie without having a Danny Elfman score behind it. Any news on who's scoring this film? | |
