Usually when I want/need music, i go buy the CD.

Lately, I have been doing a lot of video and multimedia work. Sometimes, I am told to use particular music in certain presentations. The iTunes music store has been perfect so far for when I need a popular tune to use. I don't mind paying 99 cents for a song by an artist, i woundn't normally buy from. Great system for someone like me.

Great until today!

Ok, I got hired to do a spoof commercial and I MUST HAVE the song "like a rock" by Bob Seger. BOB FRICKIN' SEGER!!! Ok, I'm sorry. I'm obviously not a fan, but I've heard enough Bob from just about every joint in town with songs like "old time rock and roll" ect. I can really live just fine if I never heard another Seger tune the rest of my life.

So... 6 hours later....
i-tunes: no
napster: no
walmart.com: no
real.com: no
windowsmedia.com: no

I found pleanty of sites that sold the album, but not the individual song. I really don't want to buy and own the whole album. BUT YOU WOULD THINK that some of these pay per download sites would have BOB FRICKIN' SEGER. I mean isn't that guy about as good 'ol boy american pie as you can get? I'm becoming aware that some of these sites sign artists for exclusive rights to download.

Would anyone have any idea of a legal download site for Bob Seger?
I'll give it a couple of hours here, then I'll walk over to the mall and buy the whole greatest hits thing.

I'm not sure what the actual agreement but I know Chevy owns most of his stuff for car commercials. Maybe that's why it's digitally unavailable but if you try some of the illegal p2p sites you WILL have some luck.

Not a fan of this home town hero but hope this info is helpful in the slightest.

I just figured Bob Seger was as common as McDonalds, you know? I'm hoping someone might know of another online music store that carries him. I know Metallica is exclusive ONLY through Walmart's music store. I'm thinking it might be the same for Mr. Seger.

OOhhh...this screensaver plays the whole song...it's a legal screensaver and a free download. Can you lift the audio from it?
