I read the Hobbit in like 6th grade thumbs up!
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

Did you know that he wrote a seminal essay on Beowulf that really got people to take that poem seriously?

smile

It was called "Beowulf and the Critics" or something like that.

I have read the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings and loved them all!

The best movie was The Return of the King, hands down. I can not fault that movie in any way....the first time I've rated a film a full five stars in years.

MrJoker

When I heard about the movies coming, I waited on reading any of the books until I had seen all of the movies. Maybe that was the best thing to do since I've heard from so many people how Peter Jackson was f*cking up the story. I think they're all great, though, books and movies. thumbs up!
