I HATED that game! It cost 50 cents to play, and then I'd get killed right off the bat 'cuz I couldn't figure out the damn thing!! I never did understand how people were able to beat that friggin game!!

I actually learned how to beat the game one one credit (can't say one quarter because the frickin thing really was 50 cents! mad)

How did I do it? Mostly I spent way too much money playing it...plus some tips from some gaming mags of the day.

God, what a waste that was. Not my best moment. confused

File that under "dubious achievement", eh???

lol OMG! I forgot that it cost 50 cents! eyepop That made the whole thing even worse! Although, I have to say that the graphics WERE cool for the time. That's how they'd suck you in...it was so cool looking that it didn't matter if the game actually worked or not...you'd pay 50 cents just to watch it!

The graphics were good because of the fact that it used actual animation, but this also lead to the limitations of the game. It was more "choose your own adventure" than it was actual game. There was also a sci-fi themed one that followed it, but I never bothered to play. The first one was too frustrating!

They even made a Saturday morning cartoon for it, as I recall.

all you did was react to areas of the screeen lighting up (i.e. the floor) you had to push the joystick in the right direction and hoped you timed it right or it was oblivion. It was hard though as i recall. I did see people finish it though.

Check out this website for what seems to be a pretty complete list of classic arcade games:

http://www.klov.com/

It's well worth checking out...

I loved Galaga. It was the only arcade game I was good at. I could get a good 20 minutes gaming out of 10p. Bargain!

Just trying to get the guy to walk in a straight line across that suspended wooden plank was next to impossible I seem to remember...

yes
I don't know if "Arkanoid" was an eighties thing, but I played it to death anyways.
Double Dragon.
Galaga.
Sinistar.
Stargate.
Star Wars--the sit down version.
Tempest.
Tron
For pin-ball my fave was "Pin-Bot", if anyone remembers that one.
Does anyone remeber the car-racing game "Sprint"? It was one of the first games to have three steering wheels on a single game unit.
My favourite video/pinball game company was "Williams". They made really creative games!

Games I couldn't stand, but played anyway (when there was nothing else around): Zaxxon, Q*Bert, Moon Patrol, the list goes on cool
