Movies people tell you are good, but that really suck

Here's my list of movies people have told me time and time again that they love, that made me want to barf when I saw them.

in no particular order....

    *I Love You To Death

    *The Sound of Music

    *Angelheart

    *Gladiator

    *A.I.

*Dr. Strangelove (actually not THAT bad a movie but.. yawn)

    *The Little Mermaid

*Vanilla Sky ( the orginal is SOOOO much better)

I'm sure I'll think of more later nod
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

Case

The Matrix movies (sorry, people, but these movies aren't NEARLY as philosophic as you'd think. I wanna tell the screenwriter that existentialism hasn't been "deep" since the '60s)

Gladiator (SUCKED!)

Titanic

Saving Private Ryan ("The Thin Red Line" was waaaaay better in comparison)

The new Star Wars movies (Attack of the Clones was mediocre at best)

What's the Original Version? I've only seen the Tom Cruise version very recently (yesterday) and found the end strange - I completely understood it but was still confuse twas a weird feeling. Maybe if I read it in writing I'd remember more.

Oh am I????

Let's start off with your beloved Angelheart...

I watched this piece of crap because you talked about it so much.... I expected something freaky, sexy like 9th gate or Rosemary's baby....I was really disappointed!
Sure seeing Ms. Thing neekid was a plus, the blood dripping from the ceiling rocked, but the plot was disjointed (I'm being generous when I say plot) it was like a Tales From The Crypt episode gone wrong.

Next Gladiator...

Ok I admit I was drunk when I saw it...kept falling asleep.. I just remember it being REALLY long... I've never been to eager to give it another go though.... I really can't stand Crowe.

Dr. Strangelove.... again yawn I like Sellers, Love Kubrick.... just didn't do it for me shrug

Vanilla Sky ... watch the original then you will know what I mean. nod

I might get chair for saying this lol ..but A Clockwork Orange really sucks IMO. I love most of Kubrick's work (The Shining, Full Metal Jacket ect.), but damn, I really didn't like this when I saw it a couple of months ago. It really hasn't aged well at all.
