I was a Genesis baby, and defended Genesis to the death, but in hindsight, I think Super NES was superior.

Same here. I mean, the Sonic the Hedgehog series was great, but it can't mess with some of the innovations that SNES had: Super Game Boy, that Mario RPG game, and even Starfox for example.

Sega had SFII as well, but it was never as good as the Super Nintendo version!

I like both systems but I still say without contest that Super Nintendo was better. It had the fucking Home Improvement video game! Is there any topping Tim "The Toolman" Taylor fighting giant insects and dinosaurs? No, there is not. End of story.

Sadly I have no copy of Home Improvement to call my own. It was carried off by a falcon when I was very young. But track it down, and you'll be chanting "MORE POWER" and grunting like The Toolman until your dying day!

I don't know as I could never best the dreaded pterodactyl, but I can't imagine they would make a Home Improvment video game without Wilson (Hopefully a robot version of him with laser eyes).

The only game that comes close to Home Improvement in terms of excellence is Shaq Fu.

Spookymuffin

You talking to a bonafide Genesis lover here! Nothing beats it, man it was the best of the two - sonic, sega mario (yes, it existed, so did SNES Sonic).

I just wish that some of the mario games for SNES came out for the Genesis, cause I'll always prefer the genesis (especially for Demolition Man the Game and the amazing Scooby Doo Mystery - nothing beats those games, those are the happiest gaming memories I have geek)

SEGA GENESIS / MEGA DRIVE ALL THE WAY

It was my first games console and I loved it to death in my youth. Sonics 1, 2, and 3; the John Madden series; FIFA soccer; and a whole host of other great games.

That said, the Super NES was a superior machine -- faster processor, more colours, etc.

The thing about Sega is that alot of their consoles just disappear into obscurity. What happened to the Mega CD, or the Dreamcast, or the Saturn, or the MultiMega? Who now owns these machines?
