Has anyone ever had an in-law or girlfriend or boyfriend's parent hate them? I was thinking about this today...I once had a boyfriend whose father HATED me for absolutely no good reason (except that he was a parinoid psychopath...lol.)
He was really mean to me from the first moment I met him and it never stopped. Has anyone ever experienced anything like that?

Moderator | Nope everybody almays loves me.
When I broke up with my boyfriend a few months ago his mom cried. In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

No, thank goodness, BUT my mom dislikes every guy I introduce to her. It's like no guy out there is good enough for her. I remember when I used to live at home and I would introduce my mom to a guy that I was dating. He could be the sweetest, nicest person in the world, but my mom could find one little thing to hate on him for. I remember once getting totally pissed at her and saying, "Mom, you NEVER like ANY guy that I introduce to you. Who do you expect me to bring home, superman??" Needless to say, she did not like that too well, but hey, fact is fact. I'm not perfect, and neither is anyone else in this world. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Hell, ever girl I dated prior to 98 had psycho parents. This girl Stephanie Whitman had a mom who hated me for some obscure reason (I think she thought I slept with the foreign exchange student who had stayed with them the previous year)...and for a year I dated this girl without her mother knowing. When I saw "Mallrats" and saw how Jason Lee made Shannen Doherty sneak in through the window to see him cuz of his mother....I sympathized.
Then my next girlfriend's parents were ultra-religious psychos and the mom would call me a devil worshipper...and then actually HIT ON ME once!! Scary!!!!

I understand. I think one of the reasons this guy hated me was because of my ethnicity too...he's a real piece of work

I understand. I think one of the reasons this guy hated me was because of my ethnicity too...he's a real piece of work It killed me considering I felt I did everything the right way when it came towards her family. I never showed any negative feelings towards her family (until it was over). It took a lot to get over feeling like a second class person. It was the most hurtful experience I've had to deal with from the hands of another. Hurt worse than a swift punch in the stomach or face. I grew from it, I'm a stronger person because of it but I still resent her and the family which isn't a feeling I like. It still lingers in the back of my head, haven't completely got rid of it yet.

And...althom's right...it IS their problem. They will go through life carrying around all of that irrational hatred. And it IS irrational...it makes NO sense whatsoever...they didn't like you for where your ancestors came from? Please. They are missing out on knowing and probably loving a wonderful person...you! I actually sort of pity them. But, don't get me wrong...they suck! My ex's dad used to make stereotypical jokes about my ethnic group right in front of me. So did the guy's friend. As long as you know that you did everything right and you were yourself...that's all you need to be concerned with.
