As I'm sure has already been stated in this thread...

Two words: PAMELA ANDERSON.

Beats everything in that list, hands down.

THE RANT: (Thank you, Molson! lol)

Hey, I'm not a lumberjack, or a fur trader....
I don't live in an igloo or eat blubber, or own a dogsled....
and I don't know Jimmy, Sally or Suzy from Canada,
although I'm certain they're really really nice.

I have a Prime Minister, not a president.
I speak English and French, not American.
And I pronounce it 'about', not 'a boot'.

I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack.
I believe in peace keeping, not policing,
diversity, not assimilation,
and that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal.
A toque is a hat, a chesterfield is a couch,
and it is pronounced 'zed' not 'zee', 'zed' !!!!

Canada is the second largest landmass!
The first nation of hockey!
and the best part of North America

My name is Joe!!
And I am Canadian!!!

Can't believe no one has mentioned one of the best comedy groups in history:

The Kids In the Hall biggrin Best described as the Canadian Pythons, but have so much of their own style.

Eugene Levy, John Candy, Martin Short (who later joined SNL) and the cast of SCTV are classic too, but KITH will always be my favorite.

Check out KITH on dvd. cool

Dan Aykroyd, co-writer of Ghostbusters and SNL in the 70's is also very well known.

Bachman Turner Overdrive I believe are Canadian.

Many members of SNL over the years have been Canadian I could be wrong. Cast members are often picked from Chicago's Second City but many came to Chicago from Canada (Dan Aykroyd, Mike Myers).

Canada also has a great healthcare system to be proud of, and a gorgeous country. I visited Victoria, Canada in 95, and it was wonderful there.

Granted all this is coming from an American, but if I could, I'd also want to have a home in Canada.

Final edit edit.

Bonjour!
Prince's current bassist is Canadian, I believe.
We also have cool Candian government Parties: our Liberals are Conservatives, our Conservatives are Americans, a major opposition party to our current government, the Bloc Quebecois, don't even want to be A PART Canada half the time (therefore are really neither Canadian or American, are they?) but must be unshakably loyal to the Canada to be the opposition.
Oh yeah: Wayne Gretzky-the greatest hockey player that will ever exist!

Bonjour!

As do I. Definitely a classic. You're right, there's so many.

Also another famous Canadian is Lorne Michaels, creator of SNL. He's also the loose basis for Dr. Evil. Seriously.

You guys gave us Hockey, Jim Carrey and Kids In The Hall, all for which I am eternally grateful!

Of course, its the least you could do, since you're also responsible for Celine Dion!!! wink

Seriously though, while we American's give Canadian's grief all the time, its all good natured! Y'all are like family!! Canadian's are, on the whole, pretty good-natured folks who take the ribbing in stride. Muchlove to our brothers and sisters to the North!!!
