"Do you remember your (insert family member's name here)?"

my dad called me a while ago, like he does every sunday afternoon...in the midst of our conversation he told me that he spoke to one of my uncles the other day and that he told my dad to tell me "hi". i was like, "tell 'im i said 'hi' back, but uh...i don't remember who he is, dad."

dad's like, "oh, the last time he saw you was when i first took you down to louisiana with me when you were about 4 years old! he was so impressed with you because you were sittin there reading a newspaper."

i'm all like, "how am i gonna still remember him if i was that young?!" lol i don't get it--why do your parents and/or relatives expect you to even vaguely remember another family member who met you when you were just a kid (and one from the side of the family that you know the least about, since they live so far away or something like that)?

I actually don't have that much family...I have my brother, Dad and stepmum, my Nana, my Aunty and Uncle but they all live away from me...I'm sure there are other relatives but I don't know them

My family, extended as it is now, is huge, with little offshoots of Thai and Indian. I can usually remember them all as I try to stay in touch, but occasionally there are awkward moments at parties and stuff.

sigh Some family think as if the good ol days were still around. Some family see you when you are little and then they get a shock coz boom! you are all grown up. Family members only remember the past and what you looked like then.
