Training people up

I hate training people up to do a new job, course it gives me satisfaction when they are learning from me batting eyes (the best lol) but it is sooo tiresome and infuriating! wall

I just wanna get on with my own work pissed and not be stopped every 5 minutes to answer another bloody stupid question! mad

Well the thing is I had a little thread all to my self and was quite happy until all these people came and posted on it. I mean if theres one thing I really hate is my thread being hijacked.

Do you have any advice ?

I find it quite satisfying training new people at work. I guess you have to have a lot of patience. Put yourself in their shoes; nobody wants to make mistakes when they're new.

i agree - it's great to see somebody else "get it" and help them feel comfortable and productive. luckily, we have a work environment where everybody is willing to share and help out, so any newbie should feel right at home. i can't imagine working in corporate america again, where the environment is one of protectiveness and spite. disbelief

I'm the boss of an Orange Retail shop, and it is a pain training up people as the industry tends to attract under 21's who think it is really cool and soon find out the general public can be nasty and that mobile/cell phonrs are actually really boring. It is satisfying when you can let them swim by themselves, but so many of the youngsters I have had expect £20,000 a year salary and do not stay around long enough.
