Different music tastes within relationships.....

Just sat here thinking about the music listened to in our house...

Myself it is Prince, Bootsy, The Time, Sheila E .....

The good lady of the house it is Slipknot, Stone Sour, G n R, Velvet Revolver....

Certainly not dull or quiet around here

See, I wouldn't mind some a little Slipknot or Velet Revolver around here!

That would be much better than say, Jim Brickman or Faith Hill! ill

See, Velvet Revolver I can do, but I'd put my foot down at Slipknot.

Hey, and no one needs to know I own some Faith Hill, too. razz
'Cause your friends don't dance, and if they don't dance... well, they're no friends of mine.

Up until now I have never dated a guy that had anything remotely close to my taste in music. It can get annoying but it's all so pretty cool, because they can expose you to music that you might not have heard otherwise.

ps I don't care what Pill says John Denver sucks ill giggle
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

Certain artists always remind me of certain people in my life. Usually because that was one of their favourites. Which can be good.....or bad!!!
It bugs me when you like an artist, then someone 'fucks it up' for you and you can stand listening to that particular singer anymore! mad I eventually got over it. lol

My boyfriend and I both love Prince, and most of his related artists. I love old, pop music and he's more into rock... those I think our music tastes have been transitioning as of late...

I don't have this problem, because whenever I tell a girl my favorite song is "Wild Wild West" by Escape Club it usually ends the relationship right there.

A lot of my relationships have been music centred. In other words, it was a passion for the same kind of music which attracted us to each other.

My wife likes Gwen Stefani, Shakira and Janet Jackson also Prince. Just his music but not him as a person.

I like all kinds of music. I like Gwen and all that. So it's fine. She don't let me watch Beyonce or Christina Milan or any of the sexy women. She get's all like. What you starin at? I'm like I like the music. She's like change it, before I do. That's where the fuss is. lol.

Case

Most of the women I dated in my teens and early 20s had wildly-divergent tastes from mine. Imagine what it's like to date a woman who listens to Richard Marx and really bad country artists like Bryan White.

In recent years, I've been blessed with hip women who like (mostly) the same type of music as I do....though I DO frequently find myself going to ICP concerts by myself.

My boyfriend and I can meet in the middle, but our favorites are on two different sides of the spectrum.

his favorite is Ween, which i just have issues with, He is such a diehard with them he travels everywhere to see them.
my favorite is well Prince, thats a shocker isnt it, and i do the same thing that he does with Ween

but we untimately agree on other bands liek massive attack, and we are currently on a hard core Devo kick as of the moment
