How many of you think of "the one that got away"? In retrospect, what do you wish you had changed? What do you think would have come of it?

seriously, i don't think i have a "one that got away" in my life...either i've gotten away from them or else it was some kinda silly crush that seemed like the love of my life at the time, but in retrospect was a pretty insubstantial infatuation on my part. i think every relationship that ends is an education for the next one, so i don't think of the past in terms of "what ifs" or missed opportunities. stuff happened in the past, different stuff will happen in the future. it is what it is.

In the end it's just my personality they have a problem with. I guess I'm just not very compatible with most. I still love them dearly (and they truly pity me lol) even though they can piss me off like no one else can. No one can get to you like an ex.

Hmmmm....in my case, 'The One That Got Away' DIDN'T. We broke off our romantic relationship but this person is now one of my best friends (and the only ex I speak to regularly). I'm really, really lucky...and she knows who she is .
