Hi Natisse, if you don't mind me asking - could you conceive with help (ie IVF etc)? I'm just curious, I was reading about this condition the other day.

I learned about Klingfetter's syndrome (or something like that) where boys have an extra X chromosome... so it's kinda opposite, I guess. I mean, like, where is the sun?

no, kitty, not at all, sorry...with that there is still a chance of falling pregnant naturally because the ovaries are still there, even tho there are obviously problems...with Turners basically there's nothing there at all, hence the reason we can't fall pregnant naturally. We can carry a child, but can't concieve

Kleinfelter's Syndrome
Affected males have an extra X chromosome resulting in XXY As many as 4 X chromosomes may be present An extra Y chromosome may be present on some occasions giving XXYY It presents with: Eunuchoid body proportions Sterility due to azoospermia Gynaecomastia in a proportion of cases (Male breast cancer however is estimated to affect some 3% of KS men, about 20 times what one would expect to find in ordinary 46,XY males) Mild Mental retardation in some cases Respiratory disorders such as asthma seem to be much more common than one would expect Melatonin levels appear to be abnormal

I am expecting my third child, I know its a boy, and I read through all the genetic variations that can occur, not to scare myself but to prepare myself, because you never knows what awaits. I like the info on your website too Natisse, thanks.
