The previews look okay, but I'm sure it'll be crap, just like the last few Alien films. The characters in the new one look totally out of place and corny. There will probably be a lot of one-liners and pointless comedy.

If it makes you feel better I went through this when Sigourney Weaver decided to do Alien 3 and Alien resurrection...2 awful movies.

ALIEN and ALIENS...classic sci-fi/horror.

Predator wasn't bad either...the sequel blew chunks.

Comic book too. Dark Horse Comics did it as far back as 1989.

Personally, I think Alien 3 was VERY good. But that's me. I like the gloomy-doomy apocalyptic stuff that just grabs you by the throat and takes you on an emotionally draining rollercoaster ride. I saw the movie several times when it was in the theaters and cried every time Ripley died. biggrin

Sigourney Weaver deserved an Oscar for that powerful performance, but she didn't even get nominated. sad

I'm actually looking forward to Aliens Vs. Predator. It's directed by the guy who directed Event Horizon, so it might actually get to be quite scary. And it might not, but I'm keeping an open mind. It's just been very long since Alien Resurrection (which was visually stunning if nothing else) and I can't wait to get back into the Alien universe with this one. drool

Funny, cuz I'm looking forward to A vs P despite the fact that Paul WS Anderson directed it. lol Event Horizon, in my opinion mind you, was a horrible movie. But I give most sci-fi, no matter how light it may be, a try.

Yeah, sure...it was supposed to be horrible. shrug Even Sam Neill, who I secretly have a crush on, didn't save it for me. lol I think it was the dude hurtling through space shouting "I'm coming to get you mother fucker" that did it for me.

My problem with Alien is why did they always send people out on their own to their death. That's so damn cheesy!

Quite some time ago there was a comic book based on the "Alien" franchise. In the comic book, the Company finally gets its hands on some Aliens for study, ultimately, in the hopes of using them as the ultimate military combat weapons against our enemies. However, one thing the scientists don't know is that the Aliens are far more intelligent than we could ever guess (they've been playing dumber than they are!), and they possess telepathic powers and can actually control the "simple" humans who are studying them. Well, a few well drawn panels later, the Aliens have not only taken over the scientists minds, but they've impregnated a whole slew of folks to carry the next generation and go out and take over America...the the world! In the comic book, they succeed in breeding and killing most of the human population, destroying us with such precision that our military determines that the best thing to do is just drop a few nuclear warheads and kill everything just to wipe out the Aliens. Just before this happens, guess who makes an appearance from a large spacecraft, armed and ready to kill some serious "Alien" @ss? Yes, a battalion of Predators!

The gist of the story that instead of the Predators being saviors of the human race, we now have to contend with Aliens and Predators, and neither one our friend.

Anyone else remember this comic book?
