But we're making sure that it won't happen again, because rumours are getting stronger that Marco van Basten will be the new coach for the dutch sqaud for the world cup in 2006. With Johan Cruijff also helping out. WHAT IF THERE IS NO TOMORROW? THERE WASN'T ONE TODAY!

He's regarded as a great great striker of his generation, but if he stayed injury free he could have been one of the all time best Not sure about his coaching ability though and hasn't Cruyff already had a stint with the Dutch side. I'm not a great optimist in managers returning back to their old jobs, club or country. "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

Cruyff has never been a manager for the national squad and van basten is already the coach for the second team of ajax together with John van 't schip. WHAT IF THERE IS NO TOMORROW? Oh, I must be mistaken then, sorry about that Noepie. I thought Cruyff was involved once. I'll go with your Dutch authority anyhow Re: van Basten however, I've don't know much about his coached teams but I think he may lack the experience at the top level. Reserve team coaching and top flight international level football are oceans apart. Look at Brian Kidd and Steve MaClaren under Fergie at Scum Utd, both great and I mean fantastic coachs for the reserves and 1st team, but to sail your own boat as the gaffer is another thing entirely. MaClaren's not done a bad job to be fair at 'Boro but Kidd fell to bits at Blackburn. On a national level the same goes for Platt and Peter Taylor. If what you stated were to happen, it may make more sense if Cruyff was head coach and van Basten assistant. May be. By the way I'm loving your 'Head banging' emoticon! It's mad "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

I have to admit that I have my doubts as well with van basten being head coach, but he might just pull it of.
And it would also be a psychological advantage, because the other team would be like: that's Marco van fucking Basten. [This message was edited Tue Jul 13 6:59:56 2004 by noepie] WHAT IF THERE IS NO TOMORROW? THERE WASN'T ONE TODAY!
