okay...
I went and saw Spider-Man 2 last night...
I should've known by the fact that Roger Ebert drooled over it that it wouldn't be good...
The movie was basically crap...not Hulk movie crap...but crap nevertheless...
It was okay...but...my fear of them turning Spider-Man into Batman came to pass.
It was completely unnecessary to keep removing his mask as many times as he did...especially on the train sequence. I mean, really...did he have to remove his mask everytime he lost his powers (which counts for 2 times)?
There was also WAY too much cheeziness too...the dragging of the "emotional", gushy scenes just annoyed the piss out of me.
The special effects were okay...but, other than that, there's not a lot that I can say about this movie that would make me recommend it to someone else.
The first movie was much better, I think.
As much as Raimi may love Spidey, I think it's time he got off the boat.

The mask thing....exactly what im saying It's utterly unnecessary to the story to have it removed so much especially the train....Battle damage yes understandable but the movie is like "oh we better have him take off the mask a lot or we can't see Tobey" And as for Spiderman not being dark as was quoted in the above posts.....I wasnt refering to his character but the city....the city is waaaay to bright and friendly looking.....where is the grit this is New York not Metropolis from Superman movies.....I thought the same thing in the first Spidey it doesnt have to be Daredevil dark but it shouldnt look like Disneyland either....

But its fitting for the tone of Spidey. NY isn't depicted that way in the comic. Its shown all bright and shiny. Its a good contrast to Daredevil, who dwells in Hell's Kitchen.

I have a quick question here, I have seen this movie a ton of times allready ( I work at a Drive in on the weekends)in the comic books who is it that set up the lair where Harry finds his fathers "costume"? I thought spidey detroyed it? I am not a avid comic book reader so I am not sure can someone help me out?

In the comic, Norman Osbourne had several different safehouses were he had set up shop. One was found by Harry, while another was later found by the original Hobgoblin.
