I know of men that have survived prostate cancer but I am not sure if liver cancer is 100% fatal.

My uncle had prostate cancer and he's fine and my friend has liver cancer and she's expecting a baby in a few months. So...I guess it depends on the individual case.

It is horrible..

My girlfriend has been battling non-hodgkins for 4 years now..

She is in remission now.. The doctor told her that she needs to do maintenance chemotheraphy every 6 months..

I think Carol has survived this because her outlook, her postivity, and her accpetance, her soul are so incredibly amazing... And she eats all organic..

So woot! for her! And welcome home to Milwaukee..

there are probably others who know more ...

but if the choices are just liver vs prostrate .... obviously the liver is the worse of the two ....

there may be some forms of liver cancer which they CAN do something for ....

my father had colon cancer --- he then had that removed - but when they did that --- they noticed liver cancer .... (which the doctor said was a "problem" that he would have to undergoe chemo for )

at that time --- i looked up liver cancer on some Health sites --- and i remember seeing it say "few people live more than a year after being diagnosed with liver cancer" ...

my dad did live about 3 years after that - but i imagine that was because they caught the "liver cancer" early with him (he didnt have any signs of "liver cancer" at the time --- they only noticed it when they went in to tackle the colon cancer problem ....)

Every single case of cancer is different, It depends wether it is a primary or secondary cancer of the liver (i.e is it really LIVER cancer or has it spread from a different organ like breast cancer invading the liver)

It also makes a difference at which stage the cancer is detected and how quickly treatment is started, almost all cancers can be treated with either drug therapy, radiotherapy or surgery.

Prostate cancer is more curable of the two cause if caught early the prostate can be removed entirly leaving and with chemo and radio therapy full remission is often attained where as with liver the human can not survive with out the liver and it is not such a great idea to operate there for we have to rely on the other forms of treatment to keep the cancer in check

every single case of cancer is different and depends on the consultant and the patient, new developments are becoming available all the time and altering treatment improving peoples chances all the time

Hope this helps
