I think the Justice League series on Cartoon Network beefs up his character a little too much. Never watched the cartoon.... but having to choose between John & Kyle, I'll take John.

Did you see the first couple of issues of the current series, drawn (or was it inked?) by Bruce Patterson? I recall a scene were Hal was chopping wood. Shirtless. Hairy chest showing. Muscles rippling. [This message was edited Fri Jul 9 18:35:49 2004 by scififilmnerd] FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

Favorite villains include Zaladane and the Savage Land Mutates, Selene, Claremont's Mr. Sinister and the Marauders and such and stuff. They're all so lovely evil And all the classic Spider-Man villains. [This message was edited Fri Jul 9 18:02:56 2004 by scififilmnerd] Dude Rick James and banner was sooooo not gay! That's open for discussion, as evidenced by this fine analytical essay I wrote for Seriejournalen.dk just last year: http://www.seriejournalen...t=&ID=1058 (And if you can't read danish, check the illustrations). Thank God for Miller, Moore, Owsley etc. I remember really liking Secret Wars but I was like 12 so I had yet to really consider the more nuanced aspects of writing funnybooks (which is one of my goals in life, actually - I just gotta figure out how to format a script so I can slap somethin' together and pitch the sucker...yeah, that's the ticket...). SECRET WARS II, however, was a steaming pile of pig poo, with the Beyonder walkin' around in pink parachute pants and a jheri curl.

Secret Wars 1 and 2 messed me all up as a kid....It was just so bizzare and crazy....In the first series having the bad guys and good guys rumbling while Galactus stands there in a pimp pose for like 4 issues I was freaking out.....The Secret Wars 2 my god....Crap practically oozed outta the pages....And to be saved by fucking Molecule Man.....God the horror....Silver Surfer was the man though....

Actually they both sucked, but you're right I was thinking of Secret Wars 2! That shit was horrible!! It was just an obvious marketing ploy with all those crossovers! Word to the wise! I loved Spidey, the Fantastic Four, and The Hulk as a kid. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Yeah man, I have been a big comic collector for like 30 years. Still buy stuff every week.
I got about 10,000 comics and 300 action figures still in packages. They are finally coming out with the great comic movies and everyone is now paying attention to all the great stories that have been told over the past 60 years in comic book form. I love Marvel, DC and Image , but still get independents too. Some of my favorites have to be Spider-man, Captain America, The Avengers, Batman, JLA, Grendel and many more. These are about the one form of any entertainment that you can purchase and read and get enjoyment out of them and actually turn around and sell them for profit. All depends on the supply and demand of the book. Really cool stuff too!!! "

Was going nowhere. I had the first 25 issues and talked to some guy in a book store about trading them and he had a bunch of X-men books and trade paperbacks I needed and we made killer swap. We were both happy with the deal. Never missed them again. "

How in the *$*# did I miss this thread??? It was tailor made for me!!!
Okay, to be utterly trite, my fave DC is Batman, Fave Marvel is Spidey. These two are what got me into comics, so I still have much love and affection for them! Fave team for DC is the current lineup of The Outsiders (which is a fantastic book, by the way). Favorite Marvel team is The Avengers. My favorite indy is David Mack's Kabuki. If you've never read it, pick up the first trade "Circle Of Blood". Fantastic stuff! Sinister said: My all time Favorite bad guy now turned kinda good guy....MIGHTY THANOS!!!
And of course my favorite hero (pimpin with his girl) well neither of these guys are heroes or villains really... Adam Warlock There is a new Adam Warlock series about to drop. He's a great, under-used character. I used to really like Thanos as a villian, but they have really watered him down into a lame, second-rate Darkseid (and I REALLY hate the whole "anti-hero" thing with him). Sinister said: I have been really dissapointed in the direction of the X-men books....I still buy them but some of the current storylines are odd and aren't going anywhere and man what the hell are they doing with the characters?!? I understand progression but lawd! They are completely forgetting about powers, and personality all together....
The only one worth reading right now, in my opinion, is Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men. Joss is definitely old-school, and he gets the characters.
