The only person you can trust is yourself

As depressing as it sounds for the state of humanity. To what extent would you agree with the title of the thread?

What that makes no sense!!

Makes perfect sense...

Not trusting someone who deserves our trust, does far more damage in the long run that trusting someone who doesn't.

to answer the question, i wholeheartedly agree with Byron who put it perfectly. nod and personally, though i am deeply suspicious of others at times, i place my trust in others more easily than i do myself.

i know that i am untrustworthy sometimes, certainly more so than some of my friends. so sometimes i may have to, and do, trust them ahead of myself.

lol....If nothing else, I'm good at 'splaining things... wink

Damaging the trust that exists between two people can be extraordinarily hard to overcome...I don't think an abuse of trust is something that should be taken lightly or diminished, at all. Yet allowing ourselves to simply not trust??...There's a price to pay for that as well, and is often more damaging in the long run...

As cynical as it is, I have to agree very strongly with the title of this thread. And unfortunately as I've grown older, I feel that way to a greater and greater degree. neutral

Maybe I've just gotten too close to too many of the wrong people.

Yup - you have to try to trust and then grow from what happens if you trusted wrongly.

to redfeathers
your private place

show me whats within, show me your space
while i touch in unfamiliar ways
does panic advance on you, does it try to invade
i have come over you, to bad cause i wont go away
whats your finest hour, whats your darkest place
where should i stake my claim
am i getting any louder as i conquer your walls and come in your doors
the world is getting closer, the sun resets in place
as you wake from your resting place, crazyhorse his trust you make
next time he'll crash through your gate surprise your private place
shake it your gonna do, tremble you may as i lay on top of you and kiss your face...

lol lmao, how's that?
