Okaaaay.... I'll admit it. I say "Meijer's". I don't know why, I guess it just sounds "right" to me. I tried breaking the habit a while back and can't seem to do it. I guess maybe because it's like a name to me... like... "I'm running down to Gus's". I dunno...
I don't say "K-Mart's"... but it sends shudders through my spine when I hear it. And, I've never heard anyone say "Target's", but have heard many say "Tar-jay" like Nat said... Though, they are joking when they say it, aren't they? It never crossed my mind that they were pronouncing it that way on purpose. I mean... the big red bullseye is everywhere.

my mom doesn't do that, but she does say "i'm going to warsh the car" or "i'm going to warsh the clothes." i always ask her how to spell "wash" then say "where it the heck do you get an R from!?!?!?!" i think that is sooooo annoying. My aunt does that, too. No one else in my family says it that way, but she does. When I was little I used to copy her in saying it because I thought it was cool because no one else said it that way. Until I was told to stop immediately. I do say the word Mayor like "mare" and Can like "Khen"... unless I'm talking about a can of soup then I say it Caaaan.
