It's National Happy Meal Week!!

Eat a Happy Meal this week to honor this special occasion. I eat Happy Meals all the time, so it's no big deal for me. Am I immature for that?

I actually tried the go active "adult" happy meal....just to get that stepometer. It's pretty cool. You wouldn't believe how many miles you actually walk just doin' basic everyday things...or while you're at work. 2000 steps=1 mile thumbs up!

what kind of overexaggerations are you expecting? I think a lot of his stuff is right on target. Of course it's one sided, but NOBODY is gonna tell you that McDonalds is good for you, so there's really only one side to argue.

From what I saw, it's kinda an obvious movie. Like you said, ppl. don't go to McDonalds for healthy food, but if you eat McDonalds in moderation, then you won't gain as much weight as he supposedly did. Plus he did little to no exercise, of course that's gonna happen. They did a challenge with ppl. who ate McDonalds everyday too, but they exercised along with it. One man actually lost a few pounds. The only thing I'm going by is the 20/20 interview with the director, which showed clips from the movie, so it seems like the director is makin' McDonalds into the "bad guy", when this can actually happen in any similar situation...not just with McDonalds. But I gotta see the movie to fully be the judge.

At the end, Morgan Spurlock explains that his experiment was a very intense one. Not many people eat McDonalds three times a day and avoid exercise in all of its forms. However, he DOES have a point. Over time, McDonalds does build up in your system. They will wreak havoc on your health.

Morgan's increased weight was emphasized, yes, but more attention was placed on his health - sodium levels, blood pressure, etc etc - some of which exploded tenfold. He had three doctors who monitored his health, and none of them could BELIEVE what was happening to him. Spurlock did not seem too concerned about his weight, but his physical health was a whole other issue. (As well as his mental health - he eventually became "addicted" to the stuff.)

McDonalds IS the bad guy. Of course, there are other fast food chains, but McDonalds is the biggest and the baddest. That's why he went after them in such an intense fashion - to make his point. Trust me, it's horrifying to watch. But I believe everyone should see it... it will definitely make you think twice about eating fast food, especially when you hear that out of 100 nutritionists that Spurlock asked, the vast vast vast majority said that McDonalds should not be eaten more than once every few months. Quite an eye opener.

Trust me.....this movie won't stop me from eating Happy Meals. Hell will freeze over before people think twice about fast food. health-wise....it's unfortunate though. This movie didn't get enough publicity to make ppl. stop and think, and even if it did, I honestly don't think fast food sales would go down cuz of it. It's the most convient type of food for most ppl.

It IS a shame, isn't it? Spurlock devotes quite a bit of time to how this fast food epidemic is effecting children, as he starts out the film with the lawsuits against McDonalds (since they were filed by children/teenagers). It's sad, really. I don't eat fast food as a general rule anyway, but I will make even more of a conscious effort to avoid them in the future.

I thought the film was big, but I guess it wasn't... it's too bad... I think it would have made a good impact on people.

"Where no children's meal had gone before: The December 1979 big-screen debut of 'Star Trek' also brought the first movie tie-in for Happy Meals. The Star Trek Meal included a toy communicator, Starfleet board game, navigation bracelet and a 'Star Trek' space ring."

That film, along with the book fast food nation have given me a very different perspective on fast food. i will no longer eat the stuff unless it is the ONLY food around and i am starving (my BP is low and if i get too hungry i can faint).

the only thing that is more disgusting than what is put in fast food is the way that this industry has truly destroyed the way food is produced and business is done in america. there will alwyas be people who that there is nothing wrong with eating fast food now and again and perhaps 10 or 15 years ago, that was true. but now fast food is barely even food. i totally agree with you natsume.
