“Prince always had an interest in the voodoo of Africa but after he became a Jehovah's Witness he was in total denial," says Rev. Payshence Smith, who holds Doctorates in Metaphysics and Religious Sciences from the ULC in Modesto, California. “After he became a Jehovah's Witness he didn't want the album released because they don't believe in homosexuality.

What album? The Black album?

What a total shambles of an article.

LOL...SOTT got rave reviews from most critics and I didn't see any of them saying that the album was "too poppy".

The Black Album was a response to the double album Sign ‘O’ The Times, which didn’t sell well and which critics said was too poppy.

Prince said he was possessed by some demonic entity? eek

.

I haven't heard the album in it's entirety, but I listened to "When 2 R in Love", which seems innocent enough and romantic. "Rockhard in a Funky Place" (Camille--his alter ego) has that psychedlic-funk vibe to it and a bit nasty, but you hear worse things on the radio these days.

When 2 R In Love is actually atypical of the album, it always sounded a bit out of place on the Black Album and much more at home on the more positive Lovesexy album. Bob George is a bit of a dark track and to me the album definitely has a kind of negative vibe to it, a bit harder and meaner then his previous stuff. Prince says that he was posessed by Spooky Electric, whether or not he was joking or serious I'm not sure.

The information about the music in the article is total nonsense.

What about "Camille", Prince's alter-ego? He didn't say that? confused

Interesting how people are getting their hands on all this stuff....this will go on for infinity.
