Wow, they are finding all these little good tidbits in every nook and cranny, aren't they?! They will probably even go so far as to auction off one of Prince's buttons that he wore on the fly of his pants just to make a quick buck!! rolleyes

Well....now that you mention it, I did see a big white button that was being auctioned off, but I think they took it down. Seriously.

Prince said he was possessed by some demonic entity? eek

I haven't heard the album in it's entirety, but I listened to "When 2 R in Love", which seems innocent enough and romantic. "Rockhard in a Funky Place" (Camille--his alter ego) has that psychedlic-funk vibe to it and a bit nasty, but you hear worse things on the radio these days.

The information about the music in the article is total nonsense.

.

What about "Camille", Prince's alter-ego? He didn't say that? confused

.

Interesting how people are getting their hands on all this stuff....this will go on for infinity.

Splendid paisley brooch personally worn by Prince, measuring 2.5 x 1.5, and set with six multicolored faux gems. In fine condition. From the collection of Prince’s former assistant, who notes: "I spent a lot of time organizing things when we moved Prince to his new home in Chanhassen on Galpin Boulevard. From time to time when I was was there he would have things set out that he no longer wanted and on one occasion the paisley pin was included. I liked it so I kept it." Accompanied by a letter of provenance.

click to enlargeesirable pair of ornamental cufflinks worn by Prince during the Parade era, each measuring 1″ x 1.25″, featuring large central violet jewels: one is set upon a gold-colored base and encircled by white faux diamond-like gems, and the other is set upon a silver-colored base and encircled by yellow faux diamonds. Removed prior to laundering, these cufflinks closely resemble the style found on Prince's yellow suit as seen in the Parade Tour book. In fine condition. Curious about that Interview CD. Looks like a bootleg...

.

It is a boot. Ridiculous that it is included in that auction.

@Bart, RR emailed me and included this quote from Alan Leeds:

"Strictly speaking it would be a bootleg in that there was never any official release of this recording. Some fans must have made a handful of CDs of the interview and somehow found its way into my archive (I honestly can't recall how I got it). ANY source recording would have been made off the original broadcasted interview and be considered a "private recording”. Any knowledgeable Prince fan would recognize that this is a private recording being made available from one fan to another - that no such interview was ever marketed for sale to the public in any format. Best, Alan"

So... Alan Leeds says it's not only sort of a bootleg smile and I generally agree. I think by the normative fan definition, it probably IS a boot, but especially given its provenance, I think it's not at all unreasonable to have it included in the sale, personally.

Interview discs were a pretty big boot item in the 1990s and beyond. This is just Prince, but the same happened for plenty of other artists: https://www.discogs.com/s...p;type=all

.

Of course, with Prince it was more lucrative, because he did so few back then. And some of those dontain material that's definitely copyrighted, e.g. the MTV interview fron Nice etc.

Yeah. One of my big unrealized goals with the org is/was to make at least a VIRTUAL place for fans to appreciate items like this. Maybe one day. At least RR treats everything with the respect I think it's due, doing research, writing good descriptions and taking quality photos, etc...

We tried Ben, remember? That was our vision.

Wow. Most of those final prices are insane!

.

Sacrifice of Victor book for $1655!!

Special Edition of the Gold Experience album $847

.

Who would know if they were really owned by Prince or not, or whether he even looked at them if he did!?

.

Anyone want to buy mine? (Prince may have held them in factory... although I can't prove it!)

i dont understand how weared boots go for more than his piano. 25000 instead of estimated 50000, while almost all the rest ended higher than the estimation. Some stuff was just crazy priced.
