The description is very misleading, by listings as a promo it appears official. It has 'Prince Music Inc.' on the sleeve which is a clue.

It's a bootleg. Always check discogs. You can pretty much count on that site having most every version of a record listed. The only vinyl listed as the bootleg on Prince Records, which of course has nothing to do with Prince.

Both went for over £450. That's really unfair, they've been ripped off.

If they're that blind of a Prince fan to buy something like that, they deserve to be milked. No one's holding a gun to their head.

Well it was ripped from a CD, so I'm sure it sounds just fine.

I want stuff on vinyl too, but I want them legit.

Same here. The idea of having them as a double LP is good and I hope it will ever come out officially this way. If it does, it would probably cost something like € 30, so don't waste your money. Another giveaway is the coloured vinyl; I have Bob Dylan bootleg LPs in all colours of the rainbow!

Technically it's a pirate. A good source for vinyl releases is http://sleevographia2.free.fr/.

I'm not one to accept or condone someone purchasing a bootleg of an artist's material, but I was just rather surprised at the reactions on this thread, and a couple other threads that are also mentioning these new Hit N' Run vinyl releases. I mean, Prince is one of the most bootlegged artists around! Be it DVDs, LPs, CDs, or MP3s! Are you all more accepting of one format over another? I've got a bootlegged Black vinyl album from way back in the day, how many of you do, also? I don't see these as any different. I suppose it's not too often that an actual, complete, officially released album gets a bootleg, so perhaps that's it? I have to admit I found Phase One and Two at my local record shop this weekend, and was totally surprised by them! In the end I had to pick them up (they were $28 each at my shop) because I thought to myself "these are his last two albums! How long might it take them to sort everything out before they see a proper vinyl release?" So I just went for it. Just make sure if you do pick them up you check them out first (if you're able to, they're in UK style shrink/bags, so you can check the LPs out if you wish) because one of my Phase One LPs had an artifact in the vinyl that causes it to pop multiple times on the last song (June.) So the quality of the product, while well done, can be iffy. But my Phase Two is perfect all the way around. Anyway, I was just curious about the whole put-down on these bootlegs, being how many fans on here probably have some other bootlegged Prince item...
