Stage-worn memorabilia

Does anyone collect Prince stage-worn memorabilia? I'm curious about the value of one of Prince's hats worn on stage by him during the Musicology tour. As he threw one into the audience during just about every concert, I would imagine there are quite a few out there.

Any insight into value would be greatly appreciated.

The problem with stuff like that is proving that it is what you say it is. Folks are just wary about buying things like that on Ebay or whatever. Same thing with autographs etc it's all in the provenance. shrug

Yes, I know what you mean. I know it's real, and if there's a video of that night I could show it to prove it, but I haven't seen that night on DVD yet. It's such a cool souvenir that I felt guilty contemplating selling it, but then I saw some of the prices that similar memorabilia was getting on Ebay by other performers. I've got great Ebay feedback, but still, being able to PROVE it's the real deal would be difficult.

Thanks for the reply.

I know what you mean about proving the authenticity. I have a 1984 Prince birthday party invite that Prince autographed. I've thought about selling it on ebay but it probably wouldn't bring squat. Who would believe it's the real deal? Oh well.

If I were you True Funk I'd keep your hat in a safe place and document the concert info. along with the concert ticket stub if you have it, in case you sell it someday.
