Thank you so much for purchasing my book, "My Time With Prince". I hope that
you enjoyed it.

I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you about a one-of-a-kind Prince
memorabilia item that I'm about to offer at private auction. As a purchaser of

the microphone used by Prince in the "1999" & "Little Red Corvette" videos.

I've received numerous requests to sell Prince memorabilia from my private
collection.

it down to my family. I've decided it's something that needs to be made

shot together at the Minneapolis Armory in 1982. "Corvette" was shot in
Lakeland, FL, at the beginning of 1983, in the Christmas break of the "1999" tour.
As I recall, Prince also used this mic onstage for the entire tour."

What is he saying?? Sexuality and Controversy were definitely NOT shot the same period as the others. And I guess Prince had more than one mic of the same kind....

This is a pathetic move by Dez-not sure I wouldn't do the same thing for the money. Some "Fan" is going to blow a wad on this thing.

yeah, i just got the same e-mail in my inbox today...i was like "wtf?" th' hell would someone want with some old mic? the die-hardest of the die-hards would be more interested in somethin like this...

Oh, it definately has some relevance to be sold in an auction. The thing is, his coolness-factor is rapidly diminishing.

Why not keep the mic as a special artifact?

Theres no truth in the rumours that Kelaira's bidding for this in a effort to get hold of some Prince spittle DNA so she can clone her own little funkster ok , its just a rumour....

Dez unloaded his Explorer guitar on Ebay a while back. It was the one used in videos and the one that he played the Little Red Corvette solo on from the 1999 LP. I bid on it but lost out.

The mic would be cool, but not as cool as the Git would have been.

I'll bid $3000 if he scrapes the spittle flakes off of the mic and sends them to me

seriously, what can Dez do with that mic? He probably feels like some die hard fan will get more enjoyment from it than he can. Hell, Id bid on it if I had the

c'mon guys. give him some slack. i think it's really cool that he's offering prince stuff to us fans. i mean, there are NOT many people out there who have had the experiences with prince like he has. i mean, can you imagine the cool stuff he has? i collect rare music items from different artists, and i have a bit of a gallery thing in my basement. this is the kind of stuff that people like myself who collect weird stuff would go for.

I dont see the problem with it. Dez is making something available that any fan would be interested in. THere is an entire industry based on memorbilia - Dez has some that obviously has some historical value as he is an integral part of music history through assoication with Prince. None of his other former band members have offered anything as relevant as the book or collectibles. Most of them have only offered harsh words and spite.
