Hard to imagine The Story of Jazz comparing to the Ken Burns documentary but with Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Willie "the Lion" Smith, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Armstrong, Jimmie Lunceford, Charles Mingus, Count Basie, Billie Holiday, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Sarah Vaughan, and Gil Evans how could it be bad.

Don't know how much you paid, but you can get The Story of Jazz and At the Jazz Band Ball...

...as a package deal for $34 on Amazon.

dvds don't get as good of reviews and pop/rock ones...
i think the best jazz thing i have in my collection is a video-its a 1950's
miles daviies tv performance...its real GOOD.

i think its a pbs kinda thing...if theta ever came out officially on dvd-you'd love
