Rick Springfield.........

Rick's latest work SHOCK/DENIAL/ANGER/ACCEPTANCE is a work that must be heard. The CD had a good week of sales considering it was an indie release and some stores didnt even "rack" the music. It just missed charting, selling a little over 6,000 units, its funny but some people blamed the chart miss on the fact that RICK is releasing a LIMITED edition copy of this CD in April only through his website, it will be a double CD and also have a DVD, and the CD will be autographed and numbered, only 3500 will be sold, and they will be priced at around 90 bucks. The double CD will be the normal album plus one bonus track, the other cd will be Demos from Ricks last album KARMA, a ton of 80's demos from RICKS house, and some tracks never on CD. And the DVD, will be the recording of this NEW cd and old TV stuff of Ricks from the 1970's (yeah 70's) that has never been on anything. I really like this idea that artists have about selling directly through their labels, some may view this as taking advantage of fans, but that couldnt be farther from the truth. This is where artists make their money, especially and artist like RICK, obviously he's not gonna get RADIO PLAY or VIDEO PLAY so why should his fans miss-out. Hall and Oates does this now, and tons of artists are going this route, I think more and more they are all realizing that CHARTING means nothing, at the end of the day U have to get the product to the people that want it from U.

"We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

His mid-80's release "TAO" was awesome, in my opinion. It was very very very far from the "Jessie's Girl" cheese that he was known for, which is why the record was forgotten, and the songs don't even show up on "greatest hits" packages. I even bought the followup, "Rock Of Life", hoping for more of that stuff, but he was back into the pop by then.

Wonder if any of those demoes will be from the TAO album. Er. Cassette.
