Teena's new CD is titled 'La Vona' but I don't know if this is the 'Black Reign' project with a new title,or an entirely new recording.I think she simply took some of the 'Black Reign' songs (which she began recording in the late 90s) and mixed them with a new batch of recordings.Not sure what the final tracklist looks like,but these are the songs that I know about... "My Body's Hungry" "Baby I'm Your Friend" "Black Reign" "Ooh Baby Baby" ( a remake of the Smokey Robinson classic) "A Rose By Any Other Name" (a duet with Gerald LeVert) "Still In Love" (the first single) "I Love Him Too" (a duet with her backup singer Dee Dee O'Neil) "I Got You" (a duet with Rick James) "The Macking Game" (with MC Lyte and Medusa) "La Vona" Most likely,the 'Black Reign' CD was already recorded when she signed to Cash Money Records over a year ago.I bet they suggested that she record a bunch of new tracks,bring in some guest artists and rappers,and change the album's title.In any case,I'm just thrilled to be getting some new music from her.The first single is great,have you heard it yet? | |
