There was plenty to admire in that performance but, for me, the mass 'Beyonce style' chorography is a step back for her. I thought the Cindy Mayweather shows for The Archandroid and Electric Lady found a sweet spot between choreography and spontaneity that was really special. But she's now second on the bill at one of the biggest musical festivals in the world so I guess the change in style paid off one way or another!

I thought Anderson Paak and Childish Gambino were awesome from what I saw on the live stream. Anyone saying organic, instrument led funk and soul is dead would do well to check them out, very impressive!

I agree that early Janelle had something really special. She could entertain with the minimum but at the same time I like to watch her do something different.
I'd love to see her do a crazy futuristic set. A Parliament meet Sun Ra meet Janelle in the new millenium with the new technology. It would be amazing.
