Mick Jagger having heart valve replacement surgery

Rolling Stone front man Mick Jagger is having heart valve replacement surgery this week in NYC thus causing the postponement of the sold out Rolling Stones tour which was to start in a few days.

Jagger hope to be well enough to hit the road later this Summer.

He was sold out in New Orleans for Jazz Fest. Serious disappointment going on down here, especially for those who camped outside the Superdome to get tix. Fingers crossed his surgery is successful.

I just saw Irma Thomas, The Soul Queen of New Orleans, at a free concert series at Lafayette Square (20 ft away), crazy. She sang Time Is On My Side. Afterwards she said - you know that's my song...but I really hope the kid is gonna be allright.

She was talking about Mick. I looked up their ages, she's 3 yrs older, lol. heart

They both recorded the song in 1964.

Mick and the rest of the Stones have influenced so many artists over the decades and have been influenced by so many artists. I can't imagine a day when Mick or the others are no longer with us. I feel the same about Bob Dylan. It will be a very sad day when we lose these guys, so send out positive vibes to Mick and let's hope he makes a full recovery. Having said that, I always thought Prince would live to be an old man and I would be seeing him perform when I became a senior citizen. It makes me very sad to know I will never see him again sad

I could really kick myself in the ass HARD for not taking advantage of seeing Prince. He came within 2 hrs of me several times within the 10-12 yrs prior to his death and in the instances I actually knew about it, I would always have a reason why NEXT time would be better.

Totally feel you on those legends, even now, it just feels like they will always be here but they're getting really old at this point. Wishing Mick a speedy and full recovery and to anyone on the fence about seeing these guys or Dylan or Fleetwood Mac etc.....DO IT!!! Not to sound morbid but you may not have another chance. Like so many, I thought I had decades left to see Prince. You just never know!

It's a miracle that Mick and the Stones are still touring into their 70's. Them playing Jazz Fest 2019 was HUGE here. They made special rules for that day so everybody who bought Stones tickets would be able to see the stage. They keep saying they will announce a replacement, but who the heck can replace them? Aretha's gone, she cancelled last year. Very few of that staure left.

yup! They all make is seem so effortless so it's hard to remember these people are in their 70's, nearing their 80's at this point!! Even most of the massive 80's stars are gone at this point, Prince, MJ, Whitney, George Michael......the only MASSIVE 80's stars left really are Madonna, Bruce and Janet.

True sad

They just announced Fleetwood Mac as the replacement. Still a lot of peeps will probably want their money back.

Edit - Fleetwood Mac just postponed Philly and Boston due to illness, they didn't say which bandmember.

So true! When I see the Stones playing, I'm amazed that they still have the energy and strength to do so, especially at their age and the lifestyle that they've lived!

I was one of those that was Prince biggest fans, but had never seen him in concert, that is until 2014 in New Orleans at JazzFest. When I heard that he would be at JazzFest, in which is close to where I live, I was determined to see him! I often wondered why I had never seen him in concert before, since I had seen others that I loved, but not as much as I loved Prince, my all time favorite! I'm so glad that I did, because it was my first and last time seeing him in the flesh, and that I will cherish always! Needless to say, he was great, I miss him so much!
