Angus Young - What do you Know About Him

a thumbs up to (imo) a great guitarist there breakout album "high voltage was on February 27, 1975, way back in the day (before synthetic muzack).
i've chosen one of my favorite solo performances by angus young.
enjoy!

he definitely has the "it" factor.
his stage performances and guitar expertise is above outstanding.
I hope you have a window of time to give comment or post your favorite AC/DC -
angus young performance.

Angus Young (guitar) of AC/DC and Verdine White (bass guitar) of Earth Wind & Fire, both had similar amazing visual presence on stage...they may not have been the frontmen of their groups, but you couldnt take your eyes off of either one during their shows...both men played their instruments with their WHOLE BODIES, not just wrists, picks and fingers...both great showmen with amazing stamina and dexterity, who were MAJOR elements of their bands' onstage persona..

One of my fave players, amazing funky blues-rock riffage and the explosive intensity of his solos.
If you've got funk, you've got style.

I been to a lot of gigs but that crowd at River Plate for AC-DC is fucking mental. I mean that in a good way. Angus is waaay up there in best players lists. I like guitarists who don't just stand and play. He performs too and i dig that.

I thought I knew the biggest fan until the Goddess showed me who it really is. lol

Angus, Malcom and Bon Scott took Chuck Berry and added their own heaviness to it.

To listen to Bon's lyrics getting better for each album still makes me smile. Such a clever bloke...RIP.

The tight ryhthm section really made Angus able to take songs to the next level. Cliff Williams and Malcom were locked in on every live recording I've ever heard.

The thing I always noticed about Angus when I've seen him live (too many times to count) is that every note matters. He's not wasting one of them.

People tend to say all of the music from AC DC sounds the same. While they all have a blues base, there's a reason why they keep selling albums and touring.

I look at music from the stand point of "will it hold up in 50 years" and this music, maybe not all of it, is really timeless to me.

I LOVE AC/DC! Man, I remember when "Let There Be Rock" was released in 1977. It was sooooooo great. I bought "High Voltage" and came across an import copy of "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap". Heaven!

But I didn't know there was a frontman BEFORE Bon Scott until I found this 1974 video of my earliest favorite AC/DC song "Can I Sit Next to You Girl".

Here's a great performance from Bon Scott and the boys of "It's a Long Way to the Top (if you wanna rock and roll)":
