 yeah,that album (‘Two’) is excellent! One great jam after another.My favorite track is “It’s Like That”.There is also a kickass slow jam,”Don’t Stop This Feeling”,which really should have been a single.This is their strongest album.

I'll be seeing him perform next month.He is a frequent performer on our annual "Super Love Jam" concert.In addition to the GQ hits,he also does some Marvin Gaye covers.

i always wondered why "Wonderful" wasnt a smash hit single...still sounds new..the guiitar parts are so amazing

I agree.They had their own unique sound....a really cool,breezy,synth-based funk sound.The second album is even stronger than the first one.I hate that they faded away soon after the release of the third album. | |

in the 90s,I boughts one of those old school compilation CDs and it contains the song "Disco Nights".In the liner notes,the writer mistakenly wrote that one of the members of this band was Keith Sweat
Bassist Keith "Sabu" Crier was the son of Arthur Crier, a member of the doo-wop group The Halos. Sabu was the uncle of new jack swing/R&B singer Keith Sweat. There was a rumor that Crier, after the group broke up, had a successful solo career using the stage name Keith Sweat. Another rumor was that before Sweat became a solo artist, he was a member of GQ. None of those rumors were true, because Sabu & The Survivors (the original name of the band) got together in 1968 and Sweat, being born on 1961, would have been probably seven years old if that was the case. | |

Keith Sweat returned the favor by working with GQ on their song and they were labelmates at the time

I know the original drummer and bass player were still performing with Keith Wilder and I think I do remember Keith having another guy or 2 on vocals with them but to me there is no Heatwave with both Keith and Johnny deceased. They were the voices of Heatwave although Johnny hadn't been performing with Heatwave for a 2 decades due to his car accident. Don't laugh at my funk
