Larry Dodson(Barkays)to come out of retirement but ... Not as a member of the Barkays. He will come back as a solo act. He did retire but got that music itch again and has been working on solo material for 4 months. He got blessings from Charlie Wilson, James Alexander, and other friends in the industry. He will begin touring in February as a solo act. No official date on when he will release new music. As a solo act he will perform under the moniker Larry D. Don't laugh at my funk

I have. I saw them last summer in Charlotte. His name is Chris Johnson(Chris J) a local singer from Memphis Larry and James chose. He sings pretty good but he doesn't quite have the flair or charisma Larry brought to the Barkays. The band is still pretty tight. Don't laugh at my funk
