If ever the question is asked "Paul McCartney or..." my answer is always the other guy. Whoever it is. Whatever they're doing. Always the other guy.

Look, I love Paul to death...but imma have to sit with the Gunners on this one. I grew up on Guns ‘N effin Roses, they’ll always have a special place in my heart.

Both great, but prefer GNR. Even though, at this point I can't hear it anymore and I wish they would drop it. The played it at every concert they did since '91.

Ethos

Paul and Wings' original is far superior to GNR's over-the-top monstrosity, which prompts me to change the station everytime it's on.

Originals are nearly always better.

This time too.

Though GnR do add their own flair which is not objectionable to me. The song itself is take-it-or-leave-it to me, though.

I hate the song but prefer the Wings version. Though this GNR cover isn’t as bad as their cover of the Rolling Stones Sympathy for the Devil. eek

One of the very few times that i dont prefer the original: Guns 'N Roses wins it.

But need to say that the versions are very similar, all credit to PMC for the song.

Guns did some brilliant covers, but also some less decent (Spagetti incident anyone?)

Wings version hands down nod its pure fire and the second best Bond theme song ever (behind Goldfinger (1964), and it should have won an Oscar.

Definitely agree - Goldfinger is the BEST James Bond song!

I would have to say Wings. Has the edge having being the original writer, arranger, performer, producer wink but I must say GNR is a worthy cover.
