“Ain’t Gonna Bump No More (with No Big Fat Woman)” is a fun song from the disco era,but it would never fly today.Too many people would get offended and not see the humor in it.

There are aongs about sex amd drugs on the radio daily lol. This song would top the charts.

Lol...you really think so? biggrin

The only way I see Bump No More being really popular today is if Weird Al does it or if maybe Pitbull uses the music but with different lyrics. Otherwise it will only be a thing for the audience of singers like Sir Charles Jones, Ms. Jody, Bobby Rush, Nelly Tiger, Bishop Bullwinkle or somebody on Malaco. Like old folks playin' dominoes music. razz

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Matthaus

Female musicians in a more expressive number that doesn't make it look like there's a female cota they have to fill up every year. And more obscure artists instead of mainstream bands with huge fan numbers but that are just as influential/creative in music history, like Patti Smith or The Velvet Underground. And, lots of non-rock musicians, which should not be an issue since Madonna got inducted.

I don't think Jay Z is eligible yet. His major label debut came out in 96.

How in the world are these artists not in there, yet Kiss and Def Leppard are?!!! eek eek eek eek

I don’t get Kiss at all. If you’re going to put Kiss in there then Motley Crue should be in too.

Kiss didn't deserve to get in, and Motley Crue is even worse

The two biggest omissions as far as I'm concerned are the J Geils Band and Los Lobos.

Also, I don't think Chic has a chance , since they gave Nile Rodgers that musical merit special award. That was sort of a consolation prize for Chic making the nomination process so many times but not getting inducted. Which is a shame
