I'm not a big fan of rap music in general. But I like this. I don't think the rest of the album is like this though. I haven't heard it myself but my brother tells me that the album is quite different to this.

Saw him on TV yesterday--says he's finishing up the album...and is going to revive Celebrity Death Match. lol

It's funky for sure but to me it's (not just) Knee Deep all over again. I don't know how many times they can try to recreate this beat in G- Funk. Meanwhile the real Funkadelic is going in new directions.
But I guess I can't really blame them for continuing to mine the P-Funk groove.

Cube did it better in '94 with "Bop Gun", and that was eleven minutes long.

Keep your headphones on.

He gave props to The Dr and rolled it out with The Roots on Kimmel last night.

I like "Arrest The President", the rest of the album is kinda meh though, including this track. Ice Cube does not translate well over trap beats, IMHO.

Hmm. It'll do well for OG Ice Cube fans not into mumble rap. Definitely a "Knee Deep" redux, but also check out George Clinton's "Man's Best Friend", cause the melody leans heavily towards that song as well.

Nell Carter: "Anything The Black Folks did Last Year"

Yes I remember first time I heard Man’s Best Friend and thinking ok this is a clone of Knee Deep. Give Junie Morrison his due too afterall he is the origin of the knee deep music.

Listening to the CD version of the album, Everthangs Corrupt, now.... the main thing that's corrupt here is the sound!

What kind of fucking halfwit producer do you have to be, to let your album be released sounding as shitty at that... totally fucking brickwalled, so that the beats are just a distorted mess.

The album sounds alright, but the mastering on this is fucking embarrassing.

The loudness wars may be the dumbest thing ever to happen to music.

What a shame. The album is fucked because of it.

I like it. It's cool that he did a track like that.

However, it's kind of lame at the same time that in order for funk to get played on radio / TV shows it has to be fronted by a rapper or someone else (like Bruno Mars) that's really not been associated with the genre directly.
