George Clinton & P-Funk final tour...

Thought I had missed my chance to see George one last time before he retires next year, but he's coming 'round these parts one more time... cool He's still got a few dates left; if you wanna see him live one last time--do it now! wink

According to this he's suppose to be taking Fishbone and Dumpstafunk out with him.

I've seen Dumpstafunk--really enjoyed them. That would be great if either one opened for P-Funk.

How old is this man now? There should come a time when you just hang it up imo, because it's sad to see people past their prime still trying to rock out.

Will you be able to rock it out when you get to his age?

Well, I saw them in 2012 and they were incredible! Unbelevable energy from every single member of the band, a fantastic, non-stop, firing on all cylinders set that morphed from one song into the next... it was just sublime, and greasy and sweaty and inspired fun...

Then, saw them this last summer, and they were none of those things. Different line-up I guess, which would have something to do with it. But they were tired, limp, no energy, half-assed chants and feeble attempts to get the crowd going. They seemed to play endless Baby-face 'new jack soft-centred RnB', which didn't help (I don't mind that per se, but this was tuneless song after tuneless song)... the whole thing was just sad.

Doesn't alter my love for Parliament/Funkadelic's music catalogue, or for George Clinton, but I don't think I'd bother going to see them again.

I see. Perhaps an off night? They fired on all cylinders at Dayton OH and Fort Wayne IN this past July.
