I really wonder what Madonna will do next. I'd say it's time for her to make a Ray Of Light "I'm a mature artist with something to say" kind of move: her last 3 albums were trying a little too hard to compete with the young Top 40 divas IMHO. Or maybe I'm too old neutral

This is a title of an F. Scott Fitzgerald book. A damn good book too.

Yeah I am ready for a Ray Of Light again. Will settle for an American Life.

Cardi B grew up listening to Madonna so this could be a good collab.

Do you think so?!! I think I unintentionally aggravated my future daughter-in-law who is into Cardi B. and I reacted to hearing her for the first time in a negative way without thinking after listening to a few songs. I actually said I prefer Nicki Minaj... What a doh! moment for me... Just because I don't dig her, doesn't mean other people don't (and I don't actually like Minaj either). razz lol

M ... please please please drop the collaborations with these younger, flavour of the moment artists.

I get she's always worked with other people, but up until the last three albums the collabs were in the background and her albums were her own ... her style, her voice, etc. All this "Madonna feat." stuff just smacks of desperation to stay relevant with youth audiences. Let it go! Or record something that good that all audiences will listen to it regardless.

It's not like she is doing a Cardi B Duets. Madonna always has a collaborator on her albums that shapes the overall sound. Back then they didn't say "feat. Nile Rodgers" or whatever.

I acknowledged that ... she always had someone behind the scenes, Jellybean, Nile, Pat Leonard, etc. But the the product was still her. True Blue didn't have Madonna and Debbie Gibson, Erotica wasn't Madonna and Mariah Carey. She should be confident enough to do it on her own.

I still live in hope that this next album since she moved to Portugal will be like that... lol Time will tell...

I feel when she was with guy ritchie she produced some really creative albums, I just couldn't get into her albums after that though she had a handful of ok tracks.

.

I agree to an extent, after the Guy split she really embraced the cougar gangsta mom persona and has rolled hard with it ever since. I wanted her to be that crazy successful pop lady that was always talking with her silly faux accent about weird religions and workouts forever, but fast forward to grillz and skin care dildos.

I was hoping we might get the more grounded, self-reflective Ray of Light Madonna back ... still waiting sad

I reckon it would be no riskier than it was back in 1997 when she was making ROL.

I don't think there's a female artist out there with a back catalogue of hits that can rival Madonna's, including Lady Gaga with a rock album in her discography ... and with the way the music industry and the world has changed I don't think there ever well be.

I can't see us returning to a time when we had those all-encompassing global megastars like we did in the 80s and early 90s. Even if another Madonna came along there's too much else going on to distract people these days ... they wouldn't have the same impact.
