Did she have ONE hit back in 2001 (17 years ago) called hit em up style or something and it was like some hoodrat revenge song, where she is driving around spending her mans money on clothes and hair and shit.

.

Thought she was a one off.

I got plenty good loving for ya baby

"Breathe" hit in the UK and was popular in other countries (if the Wikipedia scripture is accurate). But yeah the first hit was far more popular.

I think she was too honest for her own good back when she was hot property ( which I am just learning about now). I think now she might really be interesting to watch because I think she would have a lot more life experience to put into her work. It's also curious to me because she hasn't started a family or another career (that I know of) yet also hasn't released anything new in years.

Aside from being invited to perform for small crowds at music festivals, not much action from her.

Goodness love Thats a name I haven't heard in a while. I love the female R&B run between 2000-2003 where she was part of, there were great releases. Blu, Tweet (My fave), Truth Hurts, Jaguar Wright and Sunshine Anderson. It was fun checking out the new R&B releases at the time. And yes, the industry was and still is vicious.

I loved that song - the hook line "So contagious, its what I'm waiting for" until Mr Rapper comes in an ruins it with some rap like "Yo thinking of amasterplan, something my bitches can't unnastan", but the eastern vibe and belly dancing beat sell that shit.

.

Tweet was pretty good too, she was a Missy E protege so naturally her songs were quite dirty but still nice to hear shorn of all the usual overproduction in R&B at that time.

LOVED her Jam & Lewis ballad, "I'll Find A Way" from her "So Blu" album WAY BACK WHEN. It was rumoured also (then) that she was working on a new album 2b entitled "The Wrath Of Cantrell," but it never manifested. sad

I'm partial to 'Impatient' ft. Lil Kim and Fat Joe. It was on her Bittersweet album.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
