And that is your opinion Motown, just like it's my opinion that it's stupid to complain about churches that hold services for existing people, but then holding services for a god that probably doesn't even exist. Why not letting people holding services for whoever they like without complaining about that? And I might add, this wasn't a simple complaint there were people saying: "I don't understand this black culture, that useless scum."

[Edited 6/19/18 12:18pm]

The existence of air is a cold hard fact. I'm just trying to point out how simplistic of an outlook it is to say "Well I've never seen x so x must not exist." or that because we actually see something, there's nothing wrong with worshipping it. If you're going to follow that line of thinking, why stop at worshipping humans? Why not animals or even inanimate objects? The bottom line is people aren't supposed to worship and exalt fellow mortals. That goes directly against the very purpose of the church. I'm sorry for swaying this topic but I had to speak my piece. I haven't listened to this song and I have no intention to so I'm not going to comment on what I think of it. I was only here to point out why people would have a problem with Beyonce outside of her being a powerful, successful woman of color. You can't paint all Beyonce haters with the same brush.

Even though you can't see air you can still prove it exists. Wind is moving air. We breathe air. But you can't prove existence, not even nonexistence, of a god.

Not scientifically maybe.

I know it's cool to bash religion these days (not saying you are) and that many have become disenfranchised with the church due to the works of false prophets but I believe in God and though I can't calculate hard evidence, I've experienced things that prove He exists.

I’m black and I’m not feeling it. People kiss their ass too much and this album is mediocre AT BEST. Great production but that’s expected when you have millions of dollars to make an album. Jays catalog is better than Beys and I’m not big on rap. Bey only has one GREAT album through and through(Lemonade), 2 good/above average ones (Beyonce and 4) the rest are mediocre even though BDay is a fav of mine. Trash music from an artist of her caliber and the caliber of writers/producers she has access to.

Lies, Jay had several flop albums artistically.

Yes, but you said people hate on Beyonce and that's not right.

It's true though. The most radical of fanbases have always turned people against the subject of their devotion. The Beyhive is probably the most notorious fan base there is and they laud Beyonce as some untouchable goddess, something the media aids in as well. When people listen to this over the top adulation and actually look at Beyonce for what she is, the hype doesn't match up to the woman and that creates a dislike. It may be the fans who create that atmosphere but Beyonce is the center of it and thus the hate is directed at her. We can debate whether or not she actually has a hand in stoking up the media to put her on a pedestal but most of her fans leave a bad impression on her and honestly, she strikes me as vain and egotistical so it wouldn't surprise me if collaborating with the media is revealed to be her master plan.

She stopped giving interviews shortly after the Grammy performance. I think it ticked some people off, mostly casual fans and critics. It started to then give her a mysterious aura and turned her fans into the rabid "Beyhive". If anything it only helped her career. It was that Prince Show effect!!

Anyway I cant wait to hear the album. Not a fan of the trendy trap sounds (got a feeling it wont age well) but hope the rest is better.

This statement is a pile of steaming bullshit! What people really can't stand is the over the top acting from these two like they are royality. They are not! They are entertainers. Period!

Did the king and queen of America status that Brad and Angelina reveled in equally put you off or is it a special disdain you reserve for uppity Blacks?

Its art boo. Artistics. Entertainers are artists. America does not have any 'royalty' we dont live in Europe. These people came from very very humble beginnings. I would rather see entertainers artisically representing themselves however they want to when you have worked as hard as they did to get where they are.

Here is where Jay Z is from. Anyone who can make it from there to the top of the charts I respect more than some damn golden spoon fed Prince from Europe. Gtfoh.

I never thought it of as "uppity blacka" as you put it. It never crossed my mind and has nothing to do with colour. They are all just entertainers! They are not more special than any of us. Of course, Prince is the exception razz

Shiet. I grew up my beginnings in project slums just like that so did my mother and father and we all worked hard OUT of that shit. It takes a lot of strength and determination mentally to make it out of those brick walls. Jay and Bey have done so much for their communities always giving back, they get nothing but respect from me. They can entertain us however they like, I clap for their excellence in art, fashion, business and music and respect their careers more than these politicians in actual political power or kings and queens from afar who never had to work for much and was handed down cash from generations. Id crown Prince, Michael, Madonna and Janet as kings and queens of the land if I could they deserve it in my eyes.

What nonsense.

Firstly, I am black - very Pro Black in fact.
Secondly I was was referring to Jay Z (couldn’t care less about Beyonce who has wasted her God given talent by making mediocre music). The guy used to be a credible Rapper and now his entire life is a soap opera and that’s all he has to talk about these days.

Go listen to Nasir (dropped the same day) and then go listen to this Beyonce / Jay album and tell me which (in terms of the Black experience) has more important things to say. It’s no contest.

The video is well done but the album is mediocre. If it was anybody else but jay/bey people would say so. lol

Obviously Nasir was better than Evrything Is Love.

There has always been ups and down about NaS and Jay's career ever since their beef. NaS being more of a storyteller and Jay being the top 40 and businessman that he is. It is really what you want out of rap. Jay is the one you put on in the clubs get the crowd hype, NaS is the one you listen on your headphones and feel inspired.
Jay has never 'not been' credible. 4:44 was very moving and had some serious things discussed in that record from his mother coming out of the closet to talking about uncle toms in the industry.

Best comment i read today, i didnt even think of that. People get upset about people that exactely excists, but are totally ok with services for something they never saw for real.

Dude, there is seriously a big difference. So would you be ok with people actually worshiping Beyonce in the same way, and years later after we are all off the face of time, Beyonce is a goddess?

Hell I know of people who almost had Prince in that place, I read comments from people who thought Prince was literally going to come back...from the dead.

You wonder why people dislike Beyonce? Because of nonsense like that. No doubt many people out there can't stand to see a rich, successful and powerful black couple like Jay and Beyonce but that is a barebones blanket statement if that's being used to dismiss all her critics.

So it's better to hold a service for a god no one ever saw, but if black churches hold a service for a black woman it's stupid and a reason to hate Beyonce? It's not like Beyonce said they should do it and I think it's cool tho.

It is a church...

hold a service for a woman... yeah it is stupid. Why not do it somewhere made for it like when there was the tribute to Prince music at the Carnegie Hall in NYC.

It isn't about Beyonce at that point(unless she was behind it)

It was really weird to do that in that space.
