Like so many others, he was put in the biz too much, too young...

He was more amazing, accomplished and successful before he was 13 than most adult artists ever achieve - seriously. And it wasn't plucked out of thin air, he obviously had to work his ass off to achieve that.

Blood sweat and tears. He didnt just appear on youtube and got picked randomly like many of these stars. I am sure he fought tooth and nail to just be a kid and he was not allowed that. What an incredible voice.

I dare anyone to try and replicate that

Unfortunately pushing him into the entertainment industry at such a young age left him with some seriously screwed up values.
In many ways he ended up being his own worst enemy.

I'll always say that Mike probably had the best voice in the business. Nobody can touch him, I've never heard anything like this before.

Now how you think misdemeanor himself Foster Sylvers will feel about this? lol

Young MJ voice control was crazy at 5yrs old, I think only Stevie Wonder was the closest on motown to matching his childhood voice. But I don't really like kids being in this entertainment industry, by now there should have been a Kids entertainment industry seperate from the adult industry. Damn I'm just got sad thinking about MJ gone. He passed the same year my last grandma passed away and when I tell y'all I clinged on to Prince for dear life until he passed. Happy B-day Prince been jamming to Prince all month so far. I need to give my collection away or find a cloud service to save all 90GB's to.

He was without a doubt the best young singer we have ever had. Unfortunately with the nose sugergies, he ruined his voice and range.

He had a wider range as an adult then as a child. Who knows exactly what ruined his voice. Maybe he stopped caring for it

When did MJ ruin his voice? He had amazing pipes until the very end, the This is It footage proved this without a doubt.

His voice got deeper, true. But it was still amazing!

People better leave my boy MJ alone! lol

Yeah, okay then...he couldn't hit the high notes that he could before 18, after the nose surgeries. He was not the same vocalist from Off the The Wall ...onward. So sorry, I do not agree, that he did not have a wider range.

Yeah MJ had talent, but he was also a very messed up individual due to that fact, because he didn't and couldn't live a normal life. It was all he ever knew, and that led to a sad and lonely existence.

What man hits the same notes post puberty that they do pre?
Range isn’t high notes only. It’s the notes you can hit topto bottom. MJ, Wuincy and Seth have all said Seth started working with MJ during off the wall to expand his range and that it exceeded 3.5 octaves. I’ll taje their word before yours.

Each to their own. But when you compare it to what he did on say, 'Speechless', its clearly different league.

Listening to the raw acapellas from the recent multitrack leaks, his range was incredible.

He along with Marvin, Stevie, and others, MASTERED overdubbing background vocals biggrin

Yes it does, and that's auto-tuned.
Talk about an example a vocal prowess.

Michael built a style and a personality of his own.
Pity they stayed the same for twenty years: "Whoo!", "hee-hee", "Dah!",
I mean after a while it gets on your nerves. Lots of gimmicks and not much substance.

There are very, very good singers everywhere in soul music history, Michael found a pretty unique manchild approach
and it hit a nerve, but he's not the incredible, fabulous, untouchable singer some fourties-and-some would like to believe.
His technique owes a lot to Stevie Wonder circa "Innervisions".

1. Every properly trained singer.

2. Octaves to music are not inches to penises. But if that's your thing...

“He’s a high tenor with a three-and-a-half octave range. He goes from basso low E up to G and A-Flat above high C. A lot of people think its falsetto, but it’s not. It’s all connected, which is remarkable. During his vocal exercises he would put his arms up in the air and would start spinning while holding a note. I asked him why he was doing that, and he said ‘I may have to do it on stage, so I want to make sure it’s possible.’ I’d never seen anything like that before. I thought maybe I should stop him so he can concentrate on his voice now, and dance later. But I figured if he can do it, let him do it.” — Seth Riggs on Michael Jackson

Dornik has his own style.
On this particular track he reminds me of Michael.
Perhaps the inspiration for this song.
