Tim Buckley

Tim Buckley (yes - Jeff's dad) was a fantastic artist that died too young, but not before he changed genres ever few albums and created probably the most fascinating body of work for an artist emerging from the 60's imo and to me without a doubt the greatest male vocalist of that era until our main man Prince showed up. Tim had a 5 octave range and a daring NONE of his contemporaries had.
.
After starting in folk, moving to jazz freakout/avant garde he moved to soul music. Interesting connection to Prince - Wendy's dad played on some of Tim's material.
.
To you Prince fans here - for the LOVE OF GOD do yourself a favor and listen to this and wonder with me whether Prince was influenced by this man (I suspect yes). I know ya'll will dig this.

You're talking about this link from the OP?

It does work. Does it say the content is blocked when it loads or something?

Hi, I really liked the song. I found it to be a refreshing combination of linked to its time, but original at the same time. It has inspired me to seek out more Tim Buckley. I am sure Prince was inspired by any music that was original and came from a soulful heartfelt place.

Thank you for sharing.

Assist #1. , we as readers will be able to access your selections. He made nine albums in his brief career, more than I would expect given as you described him that he changed his style so many times. I'll take some time to listen to his work, his son's music was terrific even though it was one proper album.
