I love Schoolhouse Rock. It was an interesting but unrelated extension of Sesame Street in some ways. SS had those trippy cartoons counting or highlighting a letter, teaching children how to count, and spell. Fast forward to the 90s and Barney filled that. My friend's daughter had a hard time learning to speak, and she was in 2nd grade at that point. She's always said that Hooked on Phonics and Barney cartoons helped her kid learn to speak.

Schoolhouse Rock took the SS idea of learning to a new level, teaching politics, grammar, sentence structure, math, and many other things. It was so 70s and trippy, but it served a purpose. They were such catchy songs.

For those interested, in case you didn't know, there was a box set of all the songs released quite a few years ago. No doubt it's still out there. I think it's a 4 or 5 CD box set.

I saw Bob Dorough perform here in NY a few years ago and met him briefly afterward. Very nice guy. I have the preamble to the U.S. Constitution memorized thanks to Schoolhouse Rock.

I got to see Bob play a few years ago, he was 92 at the time and still a very charming performer. I loved it.

and this one:
