Loved Schoolhouse Rock. We should all live that long. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I love Schoolhouse Rock. It was an interesting but unrelated extension of Sesame Street in some ways. SS had those trippy cartoons counting or highlighting a letter, teaching children how to count, and spell. Fast forward to the 90s and Barney filled that. My friend's daughter had a hard time learning to speak, and she was in 2nd grade at that point. She's always said that Hooked on Phonics and Barney cartoons helped her kid learn to speak. " don’t really care so much what people say about me because it is a reflection of who they r."

I saw Bob Dorough perform here in NY a few years ago and met him briefly afterward. Very nice guy. I have the preamble to the U.S. Constitution memorized thanks to Schoolhouse Rock.

I got to see Bob play a few years ago, he was 92 at the time and still a very charming performer. I loved it.

My favorite Bob Dorough song was this one, although as a kid, I couldn't make sense of the math, LOL!

. me too! I STILL know the preamble to the Consitution to this day because of that Schoolhouse Rock jam. . a few years ago, Target sold this "periwinkle blue" schoolhouse rock print t-shirt. which, of course, I still wear. . my own children - my daughter is 10- she likes several of the little episodes & it looks like the some of the Multiplication Rock tunes.. have stayed in her head! I'll see you tonight..
