Top 3 males, females, and groups in the 2010s

I am interested to see your top musical artists of the current decade. You can put artists who started before the 2010s but restrict yourself to their output released this decade.

Here are mine

TOP 3 GROUPS

1. The National - loved their last 3 albums

2. Radiohead

3. Alabama Shakes

Top 3 Female Artists

1. Pink (My commercial choice: don't love all her songs, but love her voice and spirit)

2. Laura Marling - My artistic choice - criminally obscure in the US

3. Lorde - my newcomer choice - What a start to a career.

Runner up: Janelle may join the list pending on the quality of her new CD.

Top 3 Male Artists

1. Sufjan Stevens - amazing releases - so artistic, prolific and diverse despite limited vocal range.

2. Prince - Love AOA and his concerts with P & M, 3rd Eye Girl, and the Montreux series.

3. Jason Isbell - incredible songwriting - awesome in concert.

males:

Michael Jackson - Yes, he passed away in the 00s, but his new material was released this decade and did amazingly in the charts. He is also still relevant today.

Prince - Unsurprisingly.

Biggie - Just as Michael Jackson, he passed away prior to the 00s, but he has been sampled during this decade and is still influential.

females (too tough tbh):

Janet Jackson - Because of her artistic legacy.

Beyoncé - One of the top musicians of the current world.

Missy Elliott - An influential hip-hop artist.

groups:

Gipsy.cz - Standing for Roma rights.

Fakné - Standing for queer feminism and migrants' rights.

TLC - A group with a legacy although Left Eye was missing on their last album.

Hmm, this is tough, leaving out Prince:

Groups:
Vampire Weekend
The So So Glos
The Lovely Eggs

Male Solo:
Andrew Bird

Perfume Genius
Kendrick Lamar

Female Solo:
Lady Lamb (the Beekeeper)
St Vincent
Angel Olsen

Shoutout to Fiona Apple and D'Angelo though who both only released one album in the timeframe but they'd both be in my top 5 released since 2010.

Agree with you about Fiona and D'Angelo. They are both so creative but seem to have personal issues that interfere with the amount of material they release.

Well D'Angelo's issues are well documented but I think Fiona just writes slowly and from the heart rather than for the sake of getting out more "product".

She has been on record of having at least at some point issues with severe anxiety and mood. I agree that she would likely create at her own artistic timetable, but have wondered if the above issues have hindered the process.

It hasn't? I've always said Bruno is my favorite mainstream artist of this era.
