Ariana Grande's New Single, "No Tears Left To Cry"

Ariana Grande has returned with her first new music since the terrorist bombing that killed 22 people outside her Manchester Arena show in 2017.

Produced by Max Martin.

It's weird that one would note a terrorist attack while talking about her releasing new music. One has nothing to do with the other. PS She has released music since that date, although not a new song. She also continued to tour and be active in life and her career.

All that said, the song is a different direction from her previous work. I really love My Everything album. I played the fuck out of it when it came out. I sort of skipped over Dangerous Woman.

I saw this new song yesterday on YouTube. It felt different for her. Frankly, it was nice to see her without that stupid hairstyle she's had for the last however many years. I know she's a girl and loves long feminine hair etc., but as a stylist, I wanna chop it off and make her even cuter. The Royal Wedding/Dancing On The Ceiling-esque effects in parts of the video are pretty cool. The song is a nice departure from her usual R&B heavy style. It has a more modern pop edge to it (which My Everything did, compared to her first record which was solidly in the R&B field). For such a young artist with an incredible voice (that, frankly, Mariah should be worried about because her voice is half of what it used to be), it shows growth and a new reach in her talent. She is certainly in a higher realm of talent than people like Rihanna or Britney Spears. It's what Aguilera should have been doing instead of Bionic or Lotus.

I don't find it weird or nihilistic referencing the dramatic event that happened last May outside her UK gig. Happy that you like the new single, however.

When you see the title, you expect a sad song. And in Ariana's case, like it or not, that will make you think of Manchester. That was what I was thinking when I saw this thread, so I can understand that the connection was made. As for the song, it's not my kind of music, but I just wanted to say this.

I didn't connect the title with the concert shooting but I was pleasantly surprised to hear how upbeat the song was despite the somber title.

More mainstream artists could stand to deviate like that every now and then.

I really like it and think she is the most talented vocalist by far out of her group of peers. I saw this video beat Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U" out of the top trending spot on Youtube.

Past me, you wouldn't even know it was him without reading that first.
