Tracklist is basically confirmed, an early review was written and deleted shortly after and it confirmed it. The only artist featured that surprises me is Wilson. He's credited as a co-writer, I didn't even know they knew each other or that he admired her.

Speaking about respect, David Byrne (from Talking Heads) is doing a cover of Janelle's protest song Hell you talmabout on his last tour.

That song is so epic honestly. The real Black power song of this generation and its so cool that he covered it. I wonder if Janelle knows about it.

She does. She retweeted something like D. Byrne yes keep sayin' those names.

I agree. She still hasn't done a live performance of any songs from the album! Her Yoga song did good on urban (and of course it's her worst song by the way speaking about the tragic state of popular music). Make me feel was her first solo single to crossover from urban to pop in the States and on radios in Europe as well. They should have jumped on that with the promotion.

[Edited 4/20/18 2:09am]

I agree. I hate that Yoga song. I remember they use to play it all the time on the radio. I didn't know that Make me Feel song was that popular. They still have time to promote it. An act like Janelle cannot just drop singles like that and expect for it to blow up. She needs to do performances and go on talk shows to promote it.

I'm still shocked she hasn't done a single live performance yet for this album. She really needs to do it. Her dirty computer film is going to have a première on April 26th on MTV and BET!

So far, so good. The Way You Make Me Feel and I like That sound amazing, I haven't listened to Pynk yet so I'll hold off a critique. Django Jane is not a favorite, I'll skip it on the playlist.

The second thread got to long.

This is the latest song Janelle released.

CindyMay where ya at!

Even if it isn't Prince, himself, that guitar simply sounds like a sound the two of them would have collected before he died.

This is a beautiful song.

What does she mean when she says Stevie Wonder is on the album??? After 11 minutes here

I think on Stevie's dream but he's not credited eek ...I was already excited about Brian Wilson...she did an early screening for the emotion picture the other day and someone said there was a song that sounded like let's go crazy in some parts.

Yes..I want to see the film before listen to it again. I was blown away by so afraid,(best track on the record imo), don't Judge me. Other favorites take a byte, I got the juice.at first listen I was more impressed by the middle and the Last part of the album,on second listen I appreciated the first part more. Now I will listen again after the movie.
There's a lot of electro pop on the record but it will be considered r&b just because she's black of course.

And she has another rumor to confirm. "Being a queer black woman in America," she says, taking a breath as she comes out, "someone who has been in relationships with both men and women – I consider myself to be a free-ass motherfucker." She initially identified as bisexual, she clarifies, "but then later I read about pansexuality and was like, ‘Oh, these are things that I identify with too.' I'm open to learning more about who I am."

I completely changed my mind on the first songs. There isn't a skippable song on the project, and especially there isn't a make the bus in the middle of an amazing album so I'm really happy of that. lol

This woman knows how to craft a record! She took me on a joruney as usual, I keep replayin it biggrin I definitely hear the Prince's influence on this project more than ever.

The visuals on Mtv were GREAT but they aired an edited version, I want to watch the uncut version that I hope she will release today! I recommend to watch the visuals as well when they will be online!

It's a good slick album. Love that she references Prince a lot, both in the music and her interviews. I like her a lot. But it ain't like mind blowing or anything. Just a good album, in my opinion. I think it's another case where the hype and media build it up beyond what it is.Still I would rather have a artist like Janelle hyped up than most others.

Mixed thoughts on this album, certainly her worst to date in my opinion. There's some songs I really think are great, like 'Dirty Computer', 'Don't Judge Me', 'So Afraid', and the dream interludes, then there's a few which are enjoyable such as, 'Make Me Feel' and 'I Like That'. The rest ranges from okay to terrible, the worst offenders being 'I Got the Juice' and 'Django Jane'.

I appreaciate the sentiment of the album, and the Prince influences (though in the case of 'Americans' it's a little too on the nose), but as a whole I think it suffers from trying too hard to fit into the current mainstream musical climate. At its best, the album reminds me of St. Vincent's Masseduction or even a little of Susanne Sundfor's Ten Love Songs. I guess it's not a bad album for the sort of music she's trying to create, but it's not the direction I'd like to see her taking.

And I keep saying hate for 'Make the Bus' from The ArchAndroid. I've always loved that song!
